About Baden

Who am I?

Originally from Birmingham, after completing my license to practice Physiotherapy, I relocated to Edinburgh.

Following a solid grounding in musculoskeletal and sport injuries injuries through the NHS and working with Edinburgh Accies Rugby and Hibernian Academy teams, I moved to Bermuda to work in a private Sports and injury Clinic.

After working in Bermuda, the US, and New Zealand, I returned back home to Fife.  Having met Benji and I was encouraged by his ethos towards physiotherapy and his client centred approach.

I joined Benji Physiotherapy in May 2021.

Experience

I have over 15 years’ experience as a physiotherapist, with 4 years working in professional sport, as lead physiotherapist for professional sailing teams American Magic and Softbank Team Japan.  For both teams, I oversaw the rehabilitation of all injured athletes.  I also worked in unison with strength and conditioning staff to create bespoke injury prevention protocols and lead training sessions for each of the sailors.

Before my roles in professional sailing, I was a manager of a private clinic in Bermuda, working largely with the Bermuda national sports teams and high-level individuals returning them to their sport.  This often involved designing and running injury prevention classes for team and individual sports such as football, cricket, swimming, golf, and athletics.  Within the clinic I also ran rehab sessions for lower limb, spinal, and upper limb injuries.  Often my role would require me to travel to different countries to provide physiotherapy cover for both the national football team and cricket team.

Injury prevention is key area of interest of mine. I have constructed several injury preventions programs across numerous sports including football, sailing, swimming, cricket, golf, rugby, and athletics. As well as being able to deliver a sound injury prevention program, I also keep up to date with the latest techniques and treatments to ensure optimal, evidence-based rehabilitation of all my injured athletes.
